Christian von Baumbach is a mediator, supervisor and trainer working on organisational and cross-border conflict for companies and public bodies. His core practice is conflict inside organisations: within teams, between departments, and between management and staff. He also handles commercial and shareholder disputes, including succession in family businesses, and cross-border matters where the parties come from different legal and business cultures.

Christian studied Japanese regional studies in Bonn and Tokyo and worked in Japan for six years, as a translator and at Komatsu Ltd. He has been mediating since 2016, is an IMI Certified Mediator and a listed non-resident mediator with the Japan International Mediation Center in Kyoto. He works in German, English and Japanese.

He has delivered mediation training and workshops in Berlin, Vilnius and at Osaka University, including training mediators to work online. For the past five years he has been part of the teaching team of the conciliation training run by ARGE Baurecht, the construction and real estate law group within the German Bar Association.

Christian works in cooperation with PracticeForte Advisory on cross-border matters between Germany and Asia and is building the Singapore Desk in Germany.
